Kate Nash - Foundations
The video was filmed and edited very nicely as there are were a lot of jump cuts with short and fast clips using mainly close ups and basic/common shots. A powerful editing element that was used in this video was stop motion. Where they used objects such as toothbrushes, watches and socks to narrate the relationship between the couple and this worked really well.
The concept of the music video is very narrative along with having a little sense of humour in it as the artist seems careless about their relationship and rather lively. The setting of the video worked really well as it fitted with the theme of the artist and the song itself, including lots of bright colours and objects

Difference?
For our music video, we aim to make it different to the original and avoid similar features such as the editing. In this case, we want to avoid anything to do with stop motion similarly to the objects in the original. Our music video may slightly be similar due to the fact that the song and lyrics are clearly illustrated wise. But we will try to push our boundaries, think outside the box and possibly encorporate different elements such as disjunction or amplification.
As the original has a unique effect in the video involving stop motion objects, we are considering have piles of photos piling on top of one another and coming to life; from still images to the video scene. This could also be a transition from one scene to another. Unlike the original where it has lots of jump cuts, we plan to think of better transitions such as using mainly a zoom effect which brings the viewer to another scene.
