Putting on the websites was a crucial thing because like all new artists in conventional for them to promoted to the fullest. Creating the website was simple because i just used text.
Below is when i first started to create my ratings to go onto my Advert Ancillary, because my artist is new she would be rated by different magazine and music moguls. I made the stars on photo shop then made them yellow as stars are. After that i copied them and placed them in the same position. I used text to mock the style of what my three main reports would say.
Above is my advert ancillary product, i included available stores that you can buy the album from and when i was inserting these images they came with a white background, to get rid of the white background i had to edit them and remove the background. Then i got it plain, then end result is below
On my inside panel i went through many stages it went from having a picture, to a collage of pictures however in the end i just decided to have the song lyrics from her hit single and minor information about the song. This is conventional because my artist is new and people still need to get used to her.
To create the spine of my digi pak all i simply did was create a line of text then i formatted the text, added colour and made it larger, i had to space out the lettering because when it's turned on its side it will be horizontal.
Because its conventional i also included a serial number.
Here when i was using the outline effect. I came to a stand still because the lettering i used had been formatted by the scale tool which then made the rest out of line. The way i solved it was simply to re-create the typography and then start my outline effect all over again.
In the same way as my track list, i used the outline facilities to create a bold feature for my album name. putting it underneath the artist name. I find the outline effect good to use because it makes different pieces of typography stand out.
When i was creating my track-list i wanted the motif of the 'X' from my artists name to be in the back ground for this i put the ex there in centre and, used outline facilites on photoshop, to make it stand out. i adjusted the layers so that the text for the track-list was on top.
This is banner going across the bottom of the digit pack on the back panel, i created the panel myself giving it a white background separating it from the rest of the colour scheme so it is easy to locate, I had to include the record label Sacturty records and used text to write up the legal copyright paragraph. The barcode i used was also an imported image that i had to format .
This the start of process in creating my digipak i started with this image i took myself and i had to edit it so that it was usable onto other backgrounds and layers, the first thing i done was take off the original background, to do this i used various tools like LASSO and WIZARD which allows me to take out the selected images. once i done this successfully i copied and pasted the image on my digipak then scaled it to the right adjustment.
use clear photos that are appropriate shape for the page.
follow genre conventions when placing the font
use up to 3 colours
use appropriate industry logo's and conventions, the barcode, copyright, album title, artist name, and for the advertisement the release date of the album
We were recommended not to:
stretch images
use unnecessary effect
place text in front of the face of the artist
It's vey important that we stick to the conventional structure of digipaks and advertisements of our genre so that we can create high-quality ancillary work.
