Creating My Digipak - Front Cover

Below are the steps I made through creating my front cover for the digipak.

1 - I first used the photo which I manipulated from before which a pink gradient over her to enhance the photo.

2 - I added a white rectangle across the whole cover to set where my artist name and title will be placed.

3 - I then put our artist name Reem X on it in a hot pink colour to match her clothes, along with putting the title Foundations with the same width aligning the name.

4 - I changed the X into a more natural looking X which looks like it has been used to mark a spot. Along with increasing the character spacing to align with the X too.

5 - I faded the sides of the white text background to give it a smooth feel to the cover.

6 - I added Sanctuary Records Presents at the top of the cover along with making an inner border which connects to the record label header.

I have chose to use this images for my digipak as i think they are going to work very well with my artist's genre and will portray her as a serious artist. As you can see i have edited them and made them look crumpled as i think they looked a bit dull before hand.

As our artist is in a indie/pop genre, along with her playful personality, I thought that i should play around with colours to help express our artist by using gradients as overlayers:

Note to self

I have been informed by my teacher, Rebecca, to make sure that I do not use images off the internet such as background due to copyright issues. Therefore I will be sure to take my own pictures in order to be able to use them on my cover whether it being a background, pattern or objects.

Creating My Advertisement

This is my first attempt in creating my advertisement. However as you can see in the images below it looks dull and boring, and i dont think it will capture my target audience. So thereofre i have decided to start again.

Creating My Digipak

Below you can see that i have started to put my digipak together. I have edited the two pictures which will be used and i have placed them where they will be.

I have then included the artist and album name. I have made the name of the artist (Reem X) bigger as this is part of the convention of digipaks. Both of the fonts are clear to see, but i think that the album name (Foundations) will be changed as it looks a bit dull and uninteresting.

I then added the names of the songs included on the back panel. The font i chose is white, but i think that it may be a bit hard to read, so i will re-think this decision.

 Below you can see that i have now added the barcode, production information and the label.
