An album cover is at the front of the packaging of a commercially released audio record. It is what the buyer first sees, which is why it has to be eye catching. Here are some album covers which I particularly like.
I think both of these album covers are very good, as they work well in selling the artist in the way they want to be viewed. They are both very different as J.Cole’s one is a wide shot where his whole body is seen, unlike Rihanna’s where it’s a close up of her face. They both also display different messages as J.Cole is in what looks like a locker room, and he has a very serious facial impression we can expect for most of his songs to be serious. This is contrasted with Rihanna’s album cover where she is made to look wild and out of control which tells us that her songs are going to a bit extreme too.
