Skills Development - Planning

I can see a big improvement in all my skills since last year, as this year we needed to be more careful and professional. Firstly the planning of our music video had to be a lot more detailed, as we had to consider timing of the songs and editing pace in order for it to work. We put in a lot of work planning every shot and where exactly it would go in the video, so therefore our artist would sing the right lyrics. We also had our artists image planned out in order for out actor to feel in the part, we had considered  exactly what she will need to wear in order to please  our target audience, which again shows our quality of planning growing. Our filming also had to be on a better level, as this year we don’t need to use the tripod as much it gave us a chance to be more creative we still had to make it look good. I believe that this year I am a lot more comfortable and able to use the equipment, which has made this task a lot easier.

There is a very huge difference in the quality of work from last year to this year, as our skills have improved so has the quality of our work. This year we got our shots done quickly without many retakes as compared to last year where sometimes we just went with it and wasn’t too sure what we was doing so we had to re-do a lot of our shots. This makes the filming process much quicker and enjoyable. As this years task is to create a music video our filming is a lot different, as it doesn’t have to be continues editing and doesn’t have to make sense at all times. For a music video there also needs to be a lot of different shots and quick edits in order for it to look good.

On the whole I am a lot more confident this year and much more aware of our quality of work, and how each shot has to be perfectly planned out. I do believe that my skills have improved enormously since last year and will carry on developing.
